The Subsea Remote Camera System is a self-contained, ROV-deployable monitoring and recording platform designed for extended subsea observation. Its lightweight 6082-T6 aluminium frame reduces overall handling weight and cost compared with stainless-steel alternatives while providing a robust, load-tested structure for offshore operations.
A 20 mm central lifting loop is incorporated into the upper frame and is compatible with various ROV lifting hooks, including Nautilus subsea hooks.
Below the lifting section, the system features a manually adjustable pan-and-tilt assembly equipped with two high-output subsea lights, a green spot-alignment laser and a fixed-focus Full HD camera. The gimbal incorporates a friction-lock mechanism and rear adjustment bar, allowing an ROV manipulator to set the camera angle. This enables the laser spot to be positioned at the centre of the target area before recording.
The tripod-style lower frame incorporates three large pad feet for improved stability on soft or uneven seabed conditions. Glass-fibre grating across the base provides convenient access to the recording and power-management pod, removable memory pod, remote power switch and pressure-compensated battery boxes.
Designed for a minimum continuous operating and recording period of 12 hours, including a 25% operational contingency, the system is suitable for subsea inspection, environmental monitoring, offshore construction, decommissioning and long-duration seabed observation.
